We collect your dog from your home and take him or her with up to three others for a full 1 hour walk. Shorter walks are available for puppies or older dogs. We can even just pop round to let your dog out for a pee according to needs. We also take less sociable dogs or in tact males for walks on their own and on the lead for a full 1 hour walk. We like to let dogs off the lead as much as possible and choose our walks with this in mind, preferring to walk in Bere Forest or across open fields where they can run, sniff and generally express themselves. We will only let your dog off the lead with your express permission.

Your dog(s) will come and stay in our home and live as part of our family with our pets. He/she will have full run of the house and garden. We want him/her to be happy and relaxed on their ‘holiday’ so if they sit on your lap at home they will be welcome to sit on ours, if they like to lie on your feet they can lie on ours and so on, the only thing we will not do is feed from the table. We take dogs of all breeds and only from one home at a time so there will just be yours and ours. We will ask you lots of questions when you book to learn as much as possible about his/her likes and dislikes too help us settle him/her in.

Out all day? Whether you are working long hours or just having a day out you can leave your dog with us so as he/she has company throughout the day. We’ll take them for a good walk (or two), feed them and play with them as they require. We have a decent sized garden and they can choose whether they want to be in the house or outside. We can collect/drop off up to three miles from our home at no extra charge.

If you are going on holiday or away for the weekend and don’t know what to do with your cat, rabbit or budgie etc, we can feed them in your home and make sure they have clean water, bedding and litter tray in the case of cats. If you are away for more than a week, we will clean out the cage/hutch at no extra cost. We can also put the bin out, open and close the curtains, put a pint of milk in the fridge ready for you when you get back or even mow the lawn (at an extra cost).

"I was quite worried about finding the right person to look after Barnie, our Golden Doodle. I didn't like the idea of leaving him in a kennel and I therefore contacted several dog sitters. The first time we went on holidays Barnie was only a few months old, very bouncy and a bit of a handful, so I was very glad when Kath and Dom agreed to look after him. Barnie obviously enjoyed having their own two dogs as playmates and when we picked him up after one week he looked very happy, relaxed and much calmer. Hobbs & Hounds are Dom and Kath, two lifelong animal lovers, keen walkers and pet owners who live in Funtley near Fareham, Hampshire. We have been operating for just under two years now, offering a range of services including dog walking, dog sitting and home visits.

We are members of the National Association of Registered Pet Sitters (NARP), carry £2,000,000.00 public liability insurance, have been police and house checked and have access to a 24hr emergency vet. As NARP members we are bound by their code of conduct and these can be found at www.dogsit.com.

We don’t discriminate against any breed of dog, we love them all! We don’t charge extra for weekends and bank holidays and we don’t charge mileage up to three miles from our home in Funtley. We do promise to turn up whatever the weather and we do promise that our first priority is the happiness and welfare of you pet whilst in our care.
